A small collection of houses · Lecrín Valley
Casa Miró was the first. Around it, a few neighbouring houses now share the same idea of how a week here should feel.
The valley doesn't reveal itself all at once. It unfolds through conversations, shared meals, quiet paths, and the people who call it home.
We know where to knock.
How it works
You tell us who is coming and why. We propose the house that fits, and we shape the days around it: the walk worth the early start, the table worth staying late at, the door that opens because someone here knows you are coming.
It is why there is no booking button on this page. Which house is yours is a conversation. What the week itself becomes is a second conversation, and we have that one on your first morning here, once we know who is actually around.
The houses
Three floors and a salt pool, a room to work, and a top-floor balcony over the reservoir and the Alpujarras.
Traditional woodwork around a patio, a pool, a corner to work, and the valley set in the window.
Luxurious grounds, a pool, and room for twenty-two to sleep comfortably, with cooks and hands nearby who know how to set the larger table.
The way in
Not a form, a call. The pace you want, the things that might move you, the trip you have been picturing.
From that conversation, the house we think fits. You see it and approve it before you pay for anything. With it comes orientation, and a written account of what the valley tends to offer around your dates. That account describes; it reserves nothing and commits nobody.
Half to confirm, the balance thirty days before you travel. Then, on your first morning here, the second conversation: what is actually on that week, who is genuinely free, and what you feel like doing. Nothing is guaranteed simply because it appeared as a possibility before you arrived. The people here take part around their own lives, not the other way round.
What comes with it
Booking through La Red is not only access to a house. Before you travel there is a conversation, a house proposed to suit your party rather than a page of listings to compare, orientation for the drive and the village, the Carta del Valle, and recommendations tied to your actual dates rather than whatever the internet says about Granada in general.
While you are here, there is someone in the territory who knows you are coming, knows the house, knows the valley, and can help you work out what to do next. Not a guarantee that nothing will go wrong. Just a person, nearby, who already has the context.
What a stay might cost
A stay here is two things. A house, priced by the night. And the days we build inside it: the meal cooked in a neighbour's kitchen, the walk with someone who knows the paths, the morning at the oil mill. The house you choose before you travel. The days you choose once you are here. Two decisions, two moments, priced separately.
Once you decide to stay with us, you can stop researching. Put the computer down; resist the urge to spend your evenings combing the region for gems. The best of this place is not online, and never was. It lives with people, and we already know them.
Nothing is locked before you land. On your first morning we sit down together and shape the week: what is worth the early start, who is cooking, which paths are good just now. You are not a tourist working through a list. You are someone's guest.
Once you decide to stay with us, the practical questions start. What might it cost, and what is actually included. We would rather answer that with an honest range than a number you cannot yet check.
Houses in La Red vary, and anything you choose to do once you arrive is entirely optional. Tell us roughly how many of you are coming, how long you might stay and how full you like your days. Bearings will give you an honest range: the house on one side, the optional days on the other.
La Red works on a commission model with participating owners and collaborators, and the commercial terms are agreed transparently with each participant. The house and anything you choose to do are separate arrangements, made at separate moments, and never quoted as one price.
Beyond this valley
Some guests come for the week. Some come because their own valley is quietly emptying, and they wonder whether something like this could live there too. We built the network with those people in mind.
It owns no houses and renovates nothing, on purpose. A model that required buying property could never be repeated; each new region would need capital nobody has. This one needs a coordinator, a handful of willing households, and neighbours with a craft worth sharing. Chances are your region already has all three.
So come and stay. Watch how a week here is put together, ask us anything, and take the method home. The method travels; the trust does not. Trust is built by living somewhere, and that, not money, is the only real limit. If this is why you are writing, say so. We keep a longer conversation for people like you.
The longer hope
Villages like this one have been thinning for a generation. Houses and land that held the same families for centuries get sold off, often right at the moment when remote work and a slower appetite for travel might have given the next generation a reason to stay.
The quiet wager here is the opposite motion: that when people cross the world to sit at these tables, walk these paths, and treat this culture as worth the journey, the sons and daughters who left might see its worth again, and want it back.
That is not a promise, and I would not dress it up as one. But it is a goal I hold, and it is the reason beneath all the other reasons.
If the valley sounds like the trip you have been meaning to take, say hello.
